Only six weeks ago Brazilian speedster Felipe Massa was in a 'life-threatening' situation after a freak accident while qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix. A spring flicked up off Brawn driver Rubens Barrichello's car and smashed, at over 100mph, into the left-hand side of the 28-year-old's helmet.
After a week in intensive care the Ferrari racer checked out of hospital and has undergone a miraculous recovery. And he has set himself a target of returning to the track in his home country's Grand Prix in October.
Earlier on today he showed off his scars at the launch of the Racing Festival, a new Brazilian car race category for young drivers, in Sao Paulo.
